India has reached an agreement with the United Kingdom for the supply of industrial chemicals in the country’s domestic markets, a government spokesman said on Monday.
Indian officials said the accord was reached at a meeting of the government’s Industrial Affairs Council.
The agreement with Britain will allow the import of a range of industrial products such as chemicals, plastics, pesticides, fertilisers, fertiliser seed, chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides and pesticides seed, the spokesman said.
India and the UK have been negotiating an agreement for two years on industrial chemicals for domestic use.
We are working with the UK government on the agreement and will make it public shortly, the government spokesman told a daily news briefing.
As part of the agreement, the UK will pay a premium for its chemicals to the Indian government, he said.
