Megatrendsen Chemical Industries has applied to the European Commission to be listed on the same day as Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer.
Aartis Chemical Industry Limited (MCE) has a $30 million seed round led by The New York Stock Exchange and the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.MCE plans to set up an incubator and a clinical development centre in New Jersey, which will also include facilities for manufacturing and commercialization, according the company.
MCE hopes to begin its operations in the UK in 2018.
Aarts Chemical Industries was founded in 2016 by three scientists, all based in Bristol.
It is currently in the process of opening a lab in Manchester.
According to a statement, MCE is a small, vertically integrated, industrial chemical company focused on developing and commercializing new products that are able to be used for the treatment of human and animal diseases and are highly effective in the prevention of serious diseases.
It aims to expand to new markets, including pharmaceuticals, biosciences and cosmetics, it said.
Mence’s chief executive, Paul O’Leary, said: “Aarti’s focus is on creating new opportunities for the chemical industry in the United Kingdom.
It has demonstrated its expertise in developing new products and products to help treat diseases such as cancer, Parkinson’s, and heart disease.”MCE has applied for registration as a new business under the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in the European Economic Area (EEA) and is the second UK-based company to be granted registration.
The application is expected to be made public on Thursday.
Earlier this month, Aartes Pharmaceuticals, which manufactures a line of anti-inflammatory medicines, said it was applying for registration in the EEA.
The company said its aim is to build a pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution network and also provide research and development, sales and marketing services to a broad range of pharmaceutical companies in the U.K. and the European Union.
The company is currently a part of the European company Aartic Pharma, a European company that was founded by Aartijan Vahaneni, a biopharmaceutical entrepreneur.
